How does Brexit Affect Watts Urethane
“ Brexit has no long term negative effects on Watts Urethane only increased opportunities. Watts works closely with our customers already and that doesn’t change. Indeed we have just strengthened our customer relationship team with the appointment of a number of key staff” said Anthony Cooper CEO of Watts Urethane Products.
“Watts Urethane has been supplying polyurethane products internationally for nearly fifty years while the Watts Group has been manufacturing for more than 150 so we have a lot of experience of dealing with local and global shocks. The ability to continue to trade successfully is to deal pragmatically with uncertainty and to smooth out currency fluctuations”.
“Prior to the referendum on 23rd June, the Watts Urethane senior management team had already reviewed the various scenarios including Brexit and so were ready to act to overcome the obstacles, which will now ensue, and to take advantage of the increased opportunities for ourselves and for our clients” continues Anthony.
Developing Closer Customer Relationships
2016 has seen a re-organisation of the internal departments of Watts Urethane so that Watts can combine its technical knowledge of the performance of polyurethane with the technological knowledge of the markets we serve. This will enable Watts to understand even better the needs of our customers and to respond flexibly and appropriately to those needs. Just what Brexit demands.
There are now five customer-facing departments of Squeegee, Wheels & Tyres, Street Furniture, Industrial Parts and Technical Solutions with the expertise to deal with regular orders and to advise on the novel uses of urethane in that sector.
To assist in this Watts has expanded its sales team with the appointment of 3 new Sales Executives Owen Price (Squeegee), Alex Foligno (Industrial Parts) and Andrew Forrester (Street Furniture) to join James Ryan (Wheels & Tyres) as the first point of contact for any enquiry. They are supported by our experienced sales administration teams, our Technical Solutions and Production teams.
The message from Watts Urethane is clear- if you have a question regarding the use or potential use of polyurethane products please ask so we can reduce any uncertainty including that caused by Brexit.
